Irish Temperature Record Under Threat
Irish punters will be celebrating if thermometers reach record levels in the coming months after forcing the odds to be slashed on a new all-time high being recorded this summer.
A warning was sent out by Met Éireann this week warning the public to ‘take care in any strong sunshine’
…with temperatures predicted to reach 23°C on Wednesday and Thursday.
That is still some way short of Ireland’s all-time record temperature of 33.3°C clocked in Kilkenny in 1887, but odds of 9/2 for that figure to be broken before the end of the year have now been clipped into 5/2, who also make it a 9/2 shot from 8/1 to happen this month.
The recent rise in temperatures has also seen July’s all-time record of 32.3°C recorded in Roscommon fifteen years ago backed into 6/1 from 10/1 to be smashed next month.
