Kyle Hayes And Cian Lynch In Tight Race For Hurler Of The Year

Kyle Hayes is narrowly leading the race to be crowned All-Ireland SHC Hurler of the Year after he was backed this week ahead of Sunday’s final showdown with Cork at Croke Park.

The Limerick half-back has made a strong case to be recognised as their standout performer throughout the Championship and provided one of the most memorable moments of their run to the final with a stunning solo goal in the Munster Final against Tipperary.

He has been backed into 7/4 favourite from 5/2 this week to be crowned Hurler of the Year, with teammate Cian Lynch hot on his heels at 15/8.

Lynch however is being well backed to have a huge impact on the final and has shortened into 13/2 from 8/1 to be awarded RTÉ Man of the Match following the decider.

Patrick Horgan is taking the bulk of support in the Cork contingent for Hurler of the Year as the 4/1 third favourite and is expected to be in pole position for the award should the Rebels pull of an All-Ireland Final upset.

Limerick will begin the match as hot favourites at 1/4 to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the third time in four years.
