PROBLEMS IN FRONT OF GOAL – WHAT’S THE ISSUES YOU’RE SEEING?

It’s strange because there is a forward way of thinking in the team, how to help the wingers, how to create more chances and create a better balance in the team.

At the same time, I’ve always felt the forwards needed more goals to come from the midfield and defence, which would really help.

This is a problem, you see Fred’s chance, I’m not blaming him, but that’s part of being a good team when strikers are asked to defend while midfielders and defenders are asked to contribute to goals.

I’m not going to ask De Gea to score goals but there is a complimentary aspect to the game where defenders need to do more in set pieces, like in the Vidic times.

Same in the midfield, I’m not asking for 10-15 goals. When times are difficult, everyone should try and take opportunities.

For me, United can beat anyone on their day. United just need to find that spirit or aggressiveness when things are not going their way.

When things are clicking for Fernandes, Rashford or Ronaldo, no team can defend them if they are on top form.

CAN MAN UTD FINISH IN THE TOP FOUR THIS SEASON?

Yes. There are some games where you don’t play well, it happens, as every team in the Premier League will experience, we’ve seen it from Liverpool and Manchester City’s side, it’s a tough league.

Manchester United have the squad and they have responded. Who knows, by December or after the World Cup, the teams who have the best run after will be in the best position, because we don’t know who might come back really tired.

Usually, players have a holiday after the World Cup, it’s a very different season.

I hope so, he’s a terrific lad. You can see he’s really improved and has worked hard on his approach to every game.

I feel sorry for him because the last opportunity of the game where he just needed to put the ball in the back of the net, I know everyone was screaming and I’m sure he was really hurt inside.

Rashford needs to avoid these mistakes if he wants to go to the World Cup and have full confidence. He’s done really well to be in that conversation again.

Rashford needs to be aware of his fitness because he’s very intense in games, he has to sprint a lot, and it’s really demanding. When you’re not in a fully confident squad, you are asked to do more, you have to defend, and press harder.

Someone like Kylian Mbappe will manage his games, he will play only play at 60%, that’s not the case for Rashford or anyone at Manchester United, they have to play 120% every game, it’s tough.

Ronaldo has been disrespected. I have not fully agreed with the man management of Ten Hag.

I can understand why Ronaldo was upset after the Newcastle game because he trusts himself to score, lately, he has not been as lucky and efficient, it happens, and people need to realise he is not a robot.

When people are tired, Ronaldo is a killer, there is no one better than him when you are under pressure to score important goals, he did it last year and there is no reason for him not to continue that this season. I have not seen any indication physically that shows he’s slowing down.

THEY PLAY CHELSEA THIS WEEKEND – WHAT’S YOUR PREDICTION?

Chelsea has done really well and Graham Potter has put energy back into their side. It’s going to be a good opportunity for United because they seem to perform well when they’re under pressure, as we’ve seen in the last few games.

I can see these two big games being great opportunities for United to be back in the position where people think they are a threat again. Sometimes it feels like the players misunderstand what is asked of them when it comes to intensity.
