McIlroy Shortens To Bag Fifth Major In 2018

Rory McIlroy is in to 2/1 from 9/4 to add to his major title tally in 2018 after being pipped at the post in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

McIlroy missed out by one shot at the Emirates Golf Club to China’s Haotong Li who became the first Asian to win the title after notching birdies in three of his four final holes.

It hasn’t stopped punters backing Rory McIlroy to win one of the big four major titles this season however as he was backed into 2/1 from 9/4 off the back of his second place finish. McIlroy also finished third in his first outing of the year in Abu Dhabi last weekend.

BoyleSports faced another bruising refund on McIlroy as part of their promotion which rewards customers with free bets if their selection finishes 2nd or 3rd in golf tournaments. McIlroy’s second consecutive placing means all bets on him to win his two tournaments this season have been refunded as free bets.

Rory McIlroy backers may be kicking themselves after he started the season with a third in Abu Dhabi and a second in Dubai but…

BoyleSports are too after having to refund bets on him both weeks.

He may have come up just short so far this season but his near misses have actually gone down well with punters who have backed him from 10/1 to 8/1 behind Spieth and Johnson for The Masters and he’s been clipped to 2/1 add a fifth major this season.
