Natalie Sawyer: “Brentford In Dreamland If They Land Christian Eriksen”

Natalie Sawyer believes the signing of Christian Eriksen would work wonders for striker Ivan Toney amid reports Brentford have offered the former Tottenham man a six-month contract.

Brentford’s Danish manager Thomas Frank was linked to a move for his compatriot on Monday after he was released by Inter Milan last month.

Eriksen is prohibited from playing in Italy with the cardioverter-defibrillator implanted following his on-pitch collapse at Euro 2020.

Now lifelong Bees fan Natalie Sawyer has backed the plan to bring Eriksen back to the Premier League, claiming he could make a huge difference to a Brentford side who have now lost four of their last five league matches.

“It would be quite a coup if Brentford could get the Christian Eriksen signing done,” Sawyer told BoyleSports on Monday.

“There may be doubts whether he would be the same player that we know has been a handful in the Premier League,

but even if you get an 80% Christian Eriksen, we would be delighted as Brentford fans.

“His creativity in the middle of the park would be so beneficial to us I’m sure.

“Ivan Toney has been dropping deep to try and become a creator as well and that sometimes means he is not in the right position when the ball goes into the box.

“But if you had him pinned up front with Eriksen delivering balls into the box, I’d be very excited I have to say, it would be dreamland.”
