Hamilton Hot On McIlroy’s Heels For BBC SPOTY

Lewis Hamilton continues to shorten for the BBC SPOTY award and is now priced at 15/8, having been initially priced up at 10/1 when the market was priced up earlier in the year.

Despite Hamilton’s price rapidly shortening, one online punter from the north of Ireland placed £10K on Rory McIlroy at 2/5 to win the 2014 BBC SPOTY award on Thursday.

No doubt his finger nails will be fairly short come Sunday night as he waits in anticipation to see if he will make a £4,000 profit.

Gareth Bale can be backed at 40/1 to win the coveted award and is available at 10/1 in the betting without McIlroy market, with Hamilton heading the betting as the red hot favourite at 1/14. Hamilton has seen good support all year, having been as big as 10/1 prior to the start of the 2014 F1 season, but at present Rory McIlroy is by far our biggest loser.
