Ladies Night Sees Cliona Hagan’s DWTS Odds Cut In Half
Dancing With The Stars Ireland
The female contestants have caught the eye of judges and punters alike after Dancing With The Stars hosted ladies night on week 2 of the show at the weekend.
Johnny Ward had been a clear favourite before the hopefuls took to the dancefloor, but country singer Cliona Hagan has glided her way up the betting after her quick step to ‘Country Girl.’
Her 21 points was the top score of the week and the subsequent burst in support from punters has seen her odds chopped in half from 5/1 to 5/2.
Favourite Johnny Ward was also eased out to 13/8 from 5/4, making it a close contest at the head of affairs before week 3.
Mrs Brown’s Boys star Eilish O’Carroll made her own eye-catching move up the betting as the 66/1 outsider Tangoed her way up to 20/1 after earning plaudits for her performance to Alma Colgan’s ‘I Can’t Tell a Waltz from a Tango.’
Mairead Ronan scored 18 points for her waltz to Whitney Houston and at 9/1 from 10/1 she is now the second most likely candidate to become the first female winner of the show after the males took the Glitterball in the first two series
