Peter Stringer in DWTS IRL Scrum with Johnny Ward for Favouritism

The Dancing With The Stars Ireland line-up has finally been revealed with the final three celebrities confirmed as Rugby star Peter Stringer, Young Offenders star Demi Isaac Oviawe and Country singer Cliona Hagan.

Former Ireland and Munster scrum half Peter Stringer shot straight to the head of the betting as the joint 7/2 favourite alongside Johnny Ward. It’s a drastic change in price for the Love/Hate and Fair City bad boy Ward, who was initially installed as a 10/1 shot to get his hands on the Glitterball trophy when he was revealed as a participant last week.

Holly Carpenter was an early frontrunner to win at odds of 11/2, however now the full line-up has been released, she has seen supported to win and is now priced at 9/2, but it isn’t enough to see the former Miss Ireland hold onto the top spot as she shifts down to second in the betting.

Former Dublin footballer and five-time All-Ireland champion Denis Bastick originally went into the betting as the 11/2 joint favourite alongside Holly and although he remains at the same odds, the reshuffle in the betting sees him lie in third place.

Next is fashion stylist Darren Kennedy and Cliona Hagan at 13/2 apiece, with presenter Mairead Ronan available at 8/1. Current outsiders to win are Fair City’s Clelia Murphy (18/1), Demi Isaac Oviawe (20/1), comedian Fred Cooke (33/1) and Mrs Browns Boys’ star Eilish O’Carroll (40/1).

Now we have the full line-up there has been some movement in the betting as two celebs emerge as the joint favourites

…to dazzle on the dancefloor for the third series of Dancing With The Stars Ireland in January.

Peter Stringer is inevitably going to have the whole of Munster and the majority of Ireland behind him to add the Glitterball to his long list of accolades so it was a no brainer to make him a frontrunner at 7/2. However, Stringer has company at the head of the betting after punters latched onto TV bad boy Johnny Ward’s early odds of 10/1, backing him all the way into joint favouritism ahead of launch night.
