Sam Heughan Backed After Revealing 007 Audition

Sam Heughan is the latest name to be gambled as the race to become the next James Bond hots up.

Daniel Craig’s last outing as cinema’s famous spy has been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis, but he has confirmed he will bow out after ‘No Time To Die’ hits screens later this year.

The prospect of a Scot replacing Craig in the famous tuxedo is now being gambled after Outlander star Sam Heughan saw his odds cut into 8/1 from 14/1 by BoyleSports.

The move comes after a recent interview in which Heughan revealed that he once auditioned for the role back when Daniel Craig was given the nod to play the iconic agent.

Grantchester star James Norton remains the frontrunner to be the next 007 at 13/8, while other names in the running attracting money include Richard Madden (5/1), Idris Elba (11/2) and Tom Hardy (10/1).

We think 8/1 is now a more realistic reflection of his chances than the 14/1 we were offering last week.
