Selma Set To Steal Show At Golden Globes

Best Picture - Drama

Outright Betting

As the Golden Globes approach, punters have been having their say on who they think will walk away with an award.

Boyhood looks firmly set to claim Best Picture for a Drama having been backed into 1/7 from its opening price of 1/4. The Imitation Game is next in the betting but has been pushed out to 5/1 from 4/1.

Selma is a big price to walk away with the award at 14/1, however punters have been backing the flick to be the shock winner.

Birdman is hotly tipped to win Best Picture for a Musical or Comedy and is the strong 1/10 favourite from 1/6 following a flood of money. Elsewhere in the Best Picture Musical or Comedy category, Grand Budapest Hotel is priced at 8/1, with Into the Woods on offer at 9/1.

Eddie Redmayne’s portrayal of a young Stephen Hawking could see the actor claim his first Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama as he is now the biggest loser in this category with punters backing him in from 8/11 to 2/7. Julianne Moore’s role in Still Alice sees the actress in prime position for her second Golden Globe as she is now 1/10 from 1/7.

Michael Keaton could see Birdman grab another award on the night at the 1/16, hot favourite to be awarded Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. Emily Blunt and Amy Adams continue to battle it out as joint 10/11 favourites for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy but punters seem to think Emily Blunt could pip Amy Adams at the post as all the money is coming in for the Into The Woods star.

Richard Linklater is 1/7 to win his second award for Best Director for his widely anticipated drama, Boyhood. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is his main rival in the betting at 11/2 for his directorial part in Birdman.
