That’ll Abu Dhabi Do Patrice For Rose Title

Rose of Tralee

Outright Betting

Last night’s Rose Of Tralee contestants took to the stage showcasing their talents and winning smiles but behind the scenes the claws are well and truly out.

Abu Dhabi Rose Patrice McGillycuddy shot up the betting after her humble interview and fantastic rendition of “The Cup Song” warmed the hearts of the crowd.

She ticks all the boxes in what makes the Rose of Tralee and is the now 15/8 favourite having been 7/1 before the show.

Carlow Rose, Miriam Smith, is clinging onto hope ahead of her performance tonight after being pushed out to 3/1 having been the strong favourite to win at 11/4. Another contender for the crown that will take to the stage this evening is Cork Rose Anna Geary who is holding her own at 4/1 to win.

It’s as the song goes, “That made me love Mary, the Rose of Tralee” and Kerry Rose Mary Hickey certainly had a few admirers last night as she has been supported into 11/2 from 7/1. Dublin have won the most Rose of Tralee title’s with a total of five, last winning in 2003. Ahead of the pageant, the Dublin Rose Roisin Lyons looked to be a longshot at 20/1 but she can now be backed at 8/1, stripping off may have had something to do with this price change.

The market went into overdrive last night with our traders taking in over two thousand bets when the Rose of Tralee aired. The biggest move of the night came for the North Carolina Rose, winning everyone over with her wacky personality and slagging of not only her escort but Dáithí too, who was swiftly cut into 14/1 from 50/1 following an onslaught of money.
