Tiger Roll Backed To Win RTÉ Sports Personality of the Year

RTÉ Sports Personality of the Year

Outright Betting

The Gordon Elliott-trained Tiger Roll has become a household name over the last few years, especially after his triumphant 2019 appearance at Aintree when he claimed the Grand National for the second year in a row, emulating the great Red Rum.

We have cut Tiger Roll into 11/2 from 10/1 to win the 2020 RTÉ Sports Personality of the Year award this December with all eyes on his bid to create history in April.

He is the 6/1 favourite to become the first horse to win three Grand Nationals in succession.

Tiger Roll has a great relationship with Davy Russell around Aintree, but also has a special bond with Keith Donoghue as the mighty duo have won the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham for the last two years.

They will attempt to win it for the third time next month following his pleasing return to the track last weekend at Navan, where he finished fifth in the Boyne Hurdle, a race he won in 2019. Tiger Roll is the Even money favourite to win this year’s Cross Country Chase.

The Dublin footballers are another popular choice with punters for the RTÉ Sports Personality gong as they will begin their quest later in the year to win a sixth All-Ireland SFC in a row.

It has never been done before and the Dubs will be confident off the back of a history-breaking five in a row last year.

Any Dublin footballer is now 12/1 from 16/1 to be decorated with the RTÉ award at the end of the year as they continue their league campaign against Donegal this weekend.

Katie Taylor heads the RTÉ Sports Personality of the Year award betting at 11/4.
