Price Cut On Aoife O’Rourke To Win Gold At Tokyo Olympics

Irish punters are starting to get behind their favourite athletes ahead of the Tokyo Olympics with boxer Aoife O’Rourke the latest name to see her odds plummet to win a medal.

The boxer from Castlerea booked her ticket to the Tokyo Olympics last month following an impressive win over Poland’s Elzbieta Wojcik in a qualification bout at the Grand Dome in Paris.

Since that performance, punters have been showing their support for the Roscommon woman to go all the way.

We chalked O’Rourke up at 25/1 to come home from Tokyo with a gold medal but those chances have gradually been backed down to just 12/1 now.

The chances of her winning a gold, silver or bronze medal is fancied too at 7/2 from 11/2.

O’Rourke is not the only boxer attracting support. Kellie Harrington won the gold medal at the European Olympics Qualifiers in Paris last month and is now being backed to follow that victory up with gold at the Tokyo Olympics.

We have cut her odds into 11/4 from 6/1 to come home with a gold medal but those odds were as high as 12/1.
