Play It Safe At Naas On Sunday

It’s a struggle to pick out much at a decent price for the opening Grade 1 meeting of the year in Ireland on Sunday but at a track that has been renowned for being difficult for punters, it could be just best to play it safe this time around.

Next Destination
Next Destination is a worthy favourite for the Lawlor’s Of Naas Hotel Hurdle to continue the good record of Willie Mullins in the race. The Naas maiden hurdle winner backed up that impressive win by landing the spoils in the Navan Novice Hurdle where he comprehensively beat a few rivals that take him on again here.

There’s nothing to suggest that a reversal should be on the cards here and then you are looking at the likes of Speak Easy to step forward on just his second career start which might be just too big an ask.

Many punters will have been burnt about short priced favourites at Naas in the past but…

this 8/15 favourite looks rock solid and should be included in any double.

Barney To End The Drought
The first leg of a Naas double comes in the opening race with Another Barney. Jessica Harrington’s search for a winner goes on but that unusual barren streak can come to an end with Another Barney in the opening maiden hurdle.

The overnight favourite Grotesque will have undoubtedly come on for his last run where he was third in a decent maiden hurdle but Another Barney looks like a horse that might be a good buy from the point to point field after winning a maiden at Tralee back in May.

Recommended Bets:
Another Barney (4/1) – 12.40 Naas
Next Destination (8/15) – 1.45 Naas
