Enda Kenny’s Odds Cut To Step Down As Taoiseach In May

Date Enda Kenny Will Officially Leave Post As Taoiseach

Outright Betting

Enda Kenny’s odds of officially leaving his post as Taoiseach in May have been cut following his announcement that he fully intends to stay in office until the end of April.

He is now 10/11 from 6/5 to officially leave his post.

Kenny was initially thought to advocate his position in April, but after making his plans clear that he will be leading and outlining Ireland’s Brexit strategy at the EU leaders’ summit on April 29th, May now heads the betting as the month when he will officially step down.

The possibility that the Mayo native and Fine Gael leader may extend his stay in office also remains with June next in the betting at 2/1. July or thereafter is priced at 10/3 whilst Kenny to leave his post earlier than expected, either in March or April, is a 14/1 shot.

When Kenny does step down as Taoiseach, Fianna Fail’s Micheal Martin is tipped to take over at 4/9 with Fine Gael’s Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney priced at 10/3 and 4/1 respectively.
