Keir Starmer New Favourite To Replace Corbyn

Next Labour Party Leader

Outright Betting

Sir Keir Starmer is the new name at the head of the betting to replace Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party after the Conservatives romped to a comprehensive general election victory in the United Kingdom.

Boris Johnson returned to Downing Street on Friday morning with a comfortable majority, but the leadership battle in Labour has already begun after Corbyn confirmed that he will not lead the party into the next general election.

Shadow Brexit Secretary Keir Starmer was the first potential candidate to attract money on Friday as we cut his odds into 13/8 from 3/1 making him the new favourite for the position.

The move puts him ahead of previous frontrunner Rebecca Long-Bailey who has been eased to 4/1 from 9/4.

Despite Starmer’s new status as favourite, pressure is mounting on Labour to elect their first female leader and Jess Phillips, who was re-elected in Yardley with a 16,574 majority, has leaped up the betting to become the third favourite at 7/1 from 16/1.
