Mary Lou McDonald Now Odds-On Favourite To Be Taoiseach After Next Election

Sinn Féin are now even stronger favourites to win the next General Election in Ireland after the party received another boost at the opinion polls.

The latest Behaviour and Attitudes figures for The Sunday Times put support for Sinn Féin at 33%, giving them a ten-point lead over Fine Gael, who fell 2% from the previous poll to 23%.

Mary Lou McDonald has since been backed further to be the Taoiseach after the next election as we cut her into 8/13 from Even money,

…making her hot favourite ahead of Leo Varadkar (9/4) and Fianna Fáil leadership hopeful Jim O’Callaghan (12/1).

The latest betting moves also suggest Sinn Féin are now comfortably in pole position to emerge from the next election with most seats in the Dáil after shortening again into 8/15 from 4/6, with Fine Gael 6/4 second favourites and Fianna Fáil a distant third after drifting again to 11/1 from 10/1.
