Michael McNamara Shortens For Clare Seat

Despite an election date not yet known, it’s only a matter of days before Taoiseach Enda Kenny announces when it will be.

We have priced up 37 of the Irish General Election Constituencies and are offering a price on each TD to win a seat.

There has already been movement in the betting and it’s in the Clare Constituency where four TDs will get elected.

Labour’s Michael McNamara, who was elected in the 2011 general election, is now 3/1 from 9/2 to win one of the four seats with Pat Breen (Fine Gael) 1/10, Timmy Dooley (Fianna Fáil) 1/9 and Joe Carey (Fine Gael) 1/9 all odds on to get a seat. No doubt the constituency markets will see further plunges and come alive in the coming weeks.

Currently it’s 6/4 that the government after the next Irish General Election will be made up of Fine Gael/Fianna Fáil but we can report some shrewd support for a Fine Gael Majority which resulted in its price hardening into 10/1 from 16/1 over the past 24 hours.
