Micheál Martin Cut To Be Next Taoiseach

BoyleSports can report support for Fianna Fáil’s Micheál Martin to be the next Taoiseach.

The Cork native is now 11/2 from 12/1 following a surge of support in the past 24 hours that has seen Enda Kenny drastically eased to 1/10, having been as short as 1/33.

The final Leaders Debate takes place tonight on RTE One and could yet prove crucial. BoyleSports has priced up some specials regarding each party leader, with Enda Kenny priced at 5/6 to say “Vehicle” and pronounce it “Vayhicle”. Labour’s Joan Burton is 1/2 to say “As a Woman” whilst Sinn Fein’s Gerry Adams is Evens to say “Broken Promises” sometime throughout the debate.

Enda Kenny is the favourite at Evens to be the first leader to mention the British/UK Referendum on the EU,

…with Micheál Martin and Gerry Adams both priced at 3/1 and Joan Burton the outsider at 5/1.

The consistency betting has also seen some movers and shakers with Independent candidate Catherine Connolly shortening into 4/6 from 4/5 to win a seat in Galway West, whilst Fine Gael’s John O’Mahoney, the former Galway and Mayo manager, has been eased to 13/8 from 11/8 to win one of the five available seats.

Following his ruffle with Sinn Fein’s Paul Hogan, Longford/Westmeath outgoing TD James Bannon has been eased to 1/6 from 1/9 to win one of the four available seats. In Carlow/Kilkenny, following her walk-out from a KCLR FM debate and saying, “I’ll tell you now I’m fed up of the whole bloody lot of ye,” Labour’s Anne Phelan has been eased to 5/2 from 7/4 to win one of the five available seats.
