Poll Results Sway Punters As Vote To Save Eighth Amendment Shortens

A recent opinion poll on the upcoming Eighth Amendment Referendum, conducted by Sunday Independent/Kantar Millward Brown, showed a narrow majority of 45% said they would be voting to repeal whilst 34% were against. This was including undecided voters.

With just over two weeks to go until the country takes to the polls to have their say on the Eighth Amendment, we can report that the opinion poll appears to have had an impact on the betting.

A vote to change or remove the Eighth Amendment has been eased slightly out to 1/3 from 2/7,

…as the recent poll unearthed the close nature of the upcoming vote. It had been as as short as 1/5 a month ago.

Despite lagging in the opinion poll, a vote to leave the Eighth Amendment unchanged has shortened into 9/4 from 11/4 seeing it begin to close in on the ‘Yes’ vote.
