Scotland Odds-On To Say Yes To Independence In Event Of Referendum

Scotland would opt for independence if asked to vote again in a referendum according to the latest shift in the odds this week.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was booed by onlookers as he arrived in Edinburgh to meet First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who subsequently told reporters that ‘Scotland should be able to chart their own course and choose their own future, not have that future imposed upon them.’

A majority of voters ticked the ‘no’ box in the 2014 independence referendum with a minority of 44.7% voting in favour of Scotland breaking away from the United Kingdom.

However, we have cut the odds on the ‘yes’ vote breaking the 50% threshold the next time into 8/11 from 5/6

…as the new PM continues to threaten to leave the EU without a deal if none is agreed by the October 31st deadline.

The UK however remains odds-on at 8/15 to still be a full member of the EU on November 1st.
