Potter Odds-On For Brighton Job With Lampard In The Frame

Graham Potter is the early frontrunner to become the next permanent manager of Brighton after Chris Hughton was sacked on Monday morning.

Hughton guided the south coast side to the FA Cup semi-finals, but a dismal end to their Premier League campaign with just 3 points from their last 27 was enough for the Brighton hierarchy to wield the axe.

Swansea boss Potter is the market leader and is a heavy odds-on favourite at 1/6,

…with Phil Neville and Frank Lampard the next best at 8/1 apiece.

One of Pep Guardiola’s backroom team at Champions Manchester City is also in the frame with Mikel Arteta a 14/1 chance to earn his first managerial role, while his former boss David Moyes is 20/1 to make his Premier League return with the Seagulls.

Arteta has long been tipped up as a Premier League boss in his own right and was the subject of significant support for the Arsenal job before Unai Emery got the nod. He’s a candidate we’ll be keeping a close eye on for any significant money.
