World Cup Group B Prediction

Group B Winner – England @ 3/10

It is hard to see past England here to come out victorious in group B. This team have performed very well under Gareth Southgate’s stewardship in the last two major tournaments they have competed in.

This English side should cruise past Iran and they will also be heavily fancied against the USA. The most likely chance of them dropping points comes against Wales who might be less talented but are very familiar with these English players.

Group B 2nd Place – Wales To Qualify @ Evens

There is a good chance that this is Welsh talisman Gareth Bale’s last World Cup with the winger now 33 years old. Bale is not as good as he once was, but he still performs on the big occasions for his country.

The big game for Wales will come against the USA. If they lose that game, then they are in big trouble, and it will be very difficult to qualify from there. I think this Welsh team will beat the US but if the game ends in a draw, then I would still fancy their chances of getting a draw against England much more than I would fancy the United States’ chances.

Group B 3rd Place – USA to NOT Qualify @ 8/11

The United States famously secured a 1-1 draw against England back in South Africa’s 2010 World Cup. Could this USA team pull off a similar feat? I doubt it, as this is an England team that have proven they can perform at major tournaments.

Christian Pulisic of Chelsea and Weston McKennie of Juventus are the team’s two best players. In terms of an ability to play together as a unit I give Wales the nod over the Americans. That makes the USA to NOT qualify @ 8/11 the bet here.

Group B 4th Place – Iran

Iran have been given little shot by our odds makers of qualifying for the next round of the World Cup. The odds on Iran being eliminated at the group stage are 1/7.

While those 1/7 odds don’t look very appealing, I would have little interest in the 4/1 odds for this Iranian team to qualify from group B. This team did perform well in the World Cup qualifying, however. They finished ahead of South Korea and only lost one game out of their ten qualifiers in Asia.
