Ireland Shorten For Rugby World Cup Glory

The Ireland Rugby team bounced back with a 22-17 win on Saturday afternoon beating the current Six Nations champions, Wales.

The last time the sides met, Wales came out on top with a comfortable 25-7 victory in what was Joe Schmidt’s last Six Nations match as Ireland’s coach.

The boys in green are now 8/1 from 10/1 to win their first Rugby World Cup title in Japan and 3/1 to reach the final. Wales have been cut slightly into 9/1 from 10/1 to win their first World Cup considering they were not playing their first team on Saturday.

Joe Schmidt will step down as coach following the 2019 Rugby World Cup with his side set to face Wales in another friendly on home soil on the 7th of September. This clash will then be followed by their first World Cup match against Scotland on September 22nd with Ireland the 2/7 favourites, eased from 1/4.

New Zealand are the Rugby World Cup champions and the current favourites with their odds at 11/8, eased from 5/4. England are chasing their second Webb Ellis trophy with their odds at 4/1 to win the outright and 9/4 to reach the final on November 2nd in Yokohama.
