Is Second Time The Charm for X Factor Favourite Emily Middlemas?

The X Factor got off to a promising start at the weekend with a number of hopefuls impressing with their vocals.

Emily Middlemas returned after auditioning two years ago, but getting the boot at the Judges’ Houses stage. She once again wowed the judges with her take on the Stevie Wonder classic Master Blaster and went straight in as the 8/1 favourite to win.

With Emily taking over as the favourite, early favourite Caitlyn Vanbeck, whose audition was aired on Saturday, has been knocked to second in the betting at 9/1.

Also featuring at 9/1 is James Hughes who took the judges by surprise after his meek voice quickly turned into a powerhouse performance when he belted out Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind.

Christian Burrows, who stunned with an emotional original track, is next in the betting at 12/1 with James Wilson leading the way for the Overs at 14/1. Saara Aalto travelled from Finland to audition and it was a worthwhile trip as she heads to bootcamp at 16/1 to win.

The only group to have made it through in the first week are Yes Lad, who are comprised of five lads form the North-West. However they are 50/1 shots to win. Eddie Lee, Lewis Elkes and Honey G are all the 100/1 outsiders to win the show.

Emily Middlemas is back after two years to try her hand at winning the X Factor and

the betting is on her side at present as she holds the top spot in the betting at 8/1.

She’s not safe at the top however with this being the first week of auditions, but people do love a redemption story.
