Seeley’s Selections – FA Cup Tips

It’s one of the most eagerly awaited weekends in the English football calendar for BoyleSports clients it’s the FA Cup third round when the minnows have their big day to cause an upset and knock the bigger boys out of the competition.

Dover v Crystal Palace
This weekend we have a whole host of potential banana skins for the Premier League giants and the first live match on Sunday afternoon is the clash between Dover and Crystal Palace which has sent TV producers down to the Kent coast in pursuit of a potential upset.

BoyleSports don’t agree with the BT big-wigs and they make the Premier League side 2/5 favourites to safely negotiate their spot in the last 32 of the competition. Although I do think they will progress through to the next round, this is going to be far from easy.

Dover are rated at 7/1 with BoyleSports to win this and they will certainly have their supporters at that price against a Palace side struggling for any form.

The Conference side are lying in mid-table in their division, but that is due to a very poor start to the campaign but now Chris Kinnear’s side are flying and in the in-form non-league side after an unbeaten run of 16 matches.

They haven’t lost at home since early September and they’ve scored in 14 of their last 15 matches and the first bet I like in this one is the 20/23 with BoyleSports on both teams scoring.

Palace have only won once in their last 15 games and Alan Pardew’s main priority will be Premier League survival.

One player who is expected to start for Palace is striker Dwight Gayle and the Palace frontman is a decent bet at 4/1 with BoyleSports to open the scoring.

Gayle has banged in five goals from three starts in domestic cup competitions this season and the potent finisher against lower league sides is also value at the tasty 13/2 with BoyleSports on him to grab two or more in a game where I can see a few.

Seeley’s Selections:
Both Teams To Score @ 20/23
Dwight Gayle To Score 1st @ 4/1
Dwight Gayle To Score 2 or more @ 13/2

Yeovil v Manchester United
LEAGUE ONE strugglers Yeovil will be looking to produce the shock of the FA Cup third round on Sunday afternoon when they host 11 times cup winners Manchester United at Huish Park.

Gary Johnson’s side are a massive 14/1 to win this one, which is easily the biggest price on any home team on the BoyleSports FA Cup coupon and they are that price for a reason….They won’t win.

Yeovil have the worst home record in the football league, with just one win all season and it’s impossible to see them turning a seasons bad form on it’s head against United.

Luis van Gaal’s will really want to win this competition, unlike many United sides in the past and at 6/1 to go all the way and lift the trophy in May they are amongst the bookies favourites and rightly so.

They arrive in Somerset in great form unbeaten in their last nine matches and what ever side that put out in this they will be very confident of extending their unbeaten run to double figures.

United will win this one, of that I’m certain but they won’t be carrying my money at the BoyleSports 1/5 available on them to win on Sunday.

I will however be backing them at the BoyleSports bargain of evens on them to win to nil.

Yeovil have staggeringly only managed FIVE goals in their 12 home league games and have failed to scored in four of their last five matches against the mighty – Leyton Orient, Colchester, Preston and Fleetwood and it’s virtually impossible to see them scoring in this one.

When looking for a first goalscorer it’s going to be very hard to second guess the side that Van Gaal goes with in this one.

I can see youngster James Wilson given the change to lead the United attack and he would be my choice to score the opening goal at BoyleSports 4/1.

Yeovil, don’t score goals and at home and they don’t concede many either and a comfortable 2-0 win for the visitors is my choice in this one at BoyleSports offer of 5/1.

Seeley’s Selections:
Man Utd To Win To Nil @ EVS
James Wilson To Score 1st @ 4/1
Man Utd To Win 2-0 @ 5/1

Arsenal v Hull
IT’S a repeat of last seasons FA Cup final on Sunday evening , but this time it’s just a third round all Premier League clash between holders Arsenal and Hull at The Emirates.

Steve Bruce must still have sleepless nights on how they never won their first major trophy at sunny Wembley last May when his team threw away a 2-0 lead away to lose out eventually 3-2 after extra-time.

This is an ideal opportunity to gain revenge and looking at BoyleSports prices they can’t see a shock, but I can.

Hull travel down to London as the BoyleSports 17/2 outsiders and that looks massive to me.
The Tigers’ should have won also in the Premier League meeting in North London but had to settle for a 2-2 draw with a 90th minute Danny Welbeck equaliser.

Hull outmuscled the Gunners’ midfield in that October clash and against a team that has major injury concerns and looks certain to rest a few first-teamers the 17/2
is far too big.

I think another draw could be on the cards in this one though, which would put me off a wager at the big away price and the best way to play is to take the BoyleSports 9/4 on Hull-draw double chance which pays us out on both a Hull win and another stalemate.

The Gunners’ are just 1/3 to win this with BoyleSports and book their place in the last 32 of the Cup and that is just a crazy price and even if they do win and you back them you will give it all back in 2015.

Arsene Wenger’s side were poor against QPR in their last home match and were truly shocking in their 2-0 New Years Day defeat against Southampton at St Mary’s.

Both teams have scored in six of their last seven matches

and when they play Hull both teams usually score with both sides finding the net in nine of the last 12 meetings and at 5/6 thats another bet I like for the BoyleSports BTTS multiples.

After a terrible winless run Bruce’s side have put in their two best performances of the season over the Christmas period with a 3-1 win at Sunderland on Boxing Day and a 2-0 home win against Everton.

Those results will give them great confidence of a shock in this one and with the return of goalscoring form of striker Nikica Jelavić against a shaky Arsenal defence that could be the difference.

The former Everton striker netted in both of their festive wins and at BoyleSports offer of 3/1 just to score at the Emirates I like his chances.

Seeley’s Selections
Hull Double Chance @ 9/4
Both Teams To Score @ 5/6
Nikica Jelavic To Score @ 3/1
