Seeley’s Selections – Newcastle v Man United

Stats

Newcastle v Man United

Match Betting

Wednesday night’s clash between Newcastle and Manchester United used to be one of the biggest games on the Premier League calendar but now, I don’t think it’s a big one even in the the two cities.

Newcastle v Man United, Wednesday 7:45, Live on BT Sport 1
In my opinion these two are both very poor sides, they are both punching way above their current league positions and really I’m not convinced by either side. Manchester United are just 8/11 with BoyleSports to make the top four and I don’t understand why they are rated more likely for that slot ahead of in-form Liverpool and I can see any backers of that ending in tears.

Man Utd are even money to get three points with BoyleSports and even though I do think they will win, just, I really couldn’t back them with anyone’s money at those prices. Louis Van Gaal’s side are just getting away with wins and even though they haven’t impressed, they still arrive in the north east with just two defeats in their last 21 matches.

The Magpies have been so boring under John Carver and I really can’t see him being in charge at St James’ at the start of next season and at 31/10 to win this one, it’s another price that doesn’t interest me. The home side won 1-0 at the weekend at home against Aston Villa and a win in this one would be their first back-to-back success of 2015.

Under Carver, the Magpies are a much more defensive side and there has been no more than a one-goal winning margin in their last 12 home games and my preference is for a 1-0 away win at 6/1 with BoyleSports.

The Red Devils, have only lost once in their last 12 visits to Newcastle and there has been some very heavy home defeats for the hosts in that period, including a 4-0 battering last season. This fixture has seen 37 goals scored in the last 10 meetings and on the current form of the pair, that can’t continue and both teams not to score on the BoyleSports midweek coupons has to be included in all multiples at the 10/11 with BoyleSports.

Wayne Rooney played in a more advanced role in Saturday’s 3-0 home win against Sunderland with the England international grabbing a brace and at 7/2 to open the scoring with BoyleSports, that is also a bet that I’m very keen on with him also being on penalty and free-kick duties as well.

Seeley’s Selections:
Correct Score: Man United 1-0 @ 6/1
Both Teams To Score – No @ 10/11
Wayne Rooney First Goalscorer @ 7/2 (7/1 Double Bubble)

Stoke v Everton, Wednesday 7:45
Amongst the other Premier League matches on the night Stoke interest me at the 29/20 available with BoyleSports when they host Everton.

Despite their Europa League heroics Everton have been extremely poor in the Premier League and offered nothing in their 2-0 defeat at Arsenal last weekend. Roberto Martinez’ men are really in a relegation battle with just one win in their last 13 matches and this is going to be another tough one against a Stoke side that are in pretty decent form.

Stoke won 1-0 at home at the weekend against Hull and they have only lost once in their last six games at the Britannia and that was against champions Manchester City.

The Toffees have come unstuck in the potteries in recent seasons and haven’t won in their last six visits and I fully expect that run to continue probably by a 1-0 scoreline which is a decent play at BoyleSports’ 6/1.

B Lucky!
