Seeley’s Selections – Saturday’s Live Football

What a weekend of football. The Premier League is reaching the business end and the sun is shining which means the FA Cup Final is not too far away, and we have two semi-finals from Wembley on a bumper punting weekend.

Let’s start in the Premier League in what is the biggest sporting event of the day and probably the biggest game of the Premier League season so far – it’s the clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Why oh why is the FA Cup semi-final between Arsenal and Reading kicking-off just 10 minutes before the clash at Stamford Bridge?

This is total madness by the FA and the TV companies in a match that was always going to be hard to get viewers in, that has now become “mission impossible”.

Betting turnover was always going to be low with a big favourite in action, but help is on hand as I’ve got the tools to make sure we get the winners on this one.

Arsenal are one of the shortest prices favourites ever for an FA Cup semi-final at 1/4 and we all know they are going to win, but the big question is by how many and how do we make money?

I can’t see Arsene Wenger putting a full strength starting XI out at Wembley on Saturday night with a potential Premier League showdown next week at the Emirates against Chelsea, and I think this could be a lot, lot tighter than many suggest.

The Gunners are flying at present, winning their last 11 domestic matches, and the first bet I like is them to win to nil at Wembley which looks massive at 20/21 with BoyleSports.

Arsenal are expected to rest Per Mertesacker and go with Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista at the heart of their defence and when those two have formed the centre-back partnership they are yet to concede a goal.

Reading are a massive 14/1 with BoyleSports to cause an upset, they won’t, so let’s move on from that.

Manager Steve Clarke is as dull as they come (on the pitch) – he sets his team out for a 0-0 at home to Rotherham and he wouldn’t get the job as the next Greece national coach as he’s too defensive.

He will try to put 10 men behind the ball and frustrate the Gunners in this one, but this is a big Wembley pitch and they will wear them down eventually and a 2-0 Arsenal win is my pick at BoyleSports’ 11/2.

Reading have a terrible record against the Gunners – they’ve met 12 times and they’ve lost the lot.

Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla have scored four times in their last three matches against Reading and at 11/2 with BoyleSports I’m going to take Walcott to open the scoring as I expect the England international to start.
