Seeley’s Selections – Sunday’s Live Premier League

Arsenal v Stoke

Match Betting

Arsenal take on Stoke in the first live Premier League Super Sunday of 2015 in the afternoon kick-off from the Emirates and there really is a lot…

Arsenal v Stoke, Sunday 1.30pm, live on Sky Sports 1
…to like about the home side in this one even if they are just 40/85 with BoyleSports to gain the three points.

Arsenal need to hit the New Year in full stride if they are to yet again cement their place in the top four and this looks a good place for them to start.
The Gunners have lost just two games in their 16 home matches this season and they aren’t going to lose this one in a match-up that they always get the better off.

Amazingly, the Gunners have won their last 12 matches against Stoke and the last time the visitors did win in the red half of North London was way back in January 1981 when Aneka (not Anelka) was top of the charts with Japenese Boy.

Arsene Wenger is still a man under pressure, but the big guns should be back for this one with Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil all available for selection for the first time since the opening day of the season.

The Wenger Boys eased to a 2-0 win over Hull in their defence of the FA Cup last weekend and even though I think they will win, I can see plenty of goals in this one unlike the Cup game.

Six of the last seven Arsenal games have seen both teams scoring and in five of their last eight matches between Stoke at the Emirates both teams also found the net so industry best 20/21 with BoyleSports on that happening again looks another decent bet.

Stoke beat Arsenal in a 3-2 classic at the Britannia early in the season in a match which was a feisty affair and at 7/1 with BoyleSports, they will have a few supporters, they too arrive here in good form with just one loss in their last seven matches, but I expect that good run to end on Sunday.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has never beaten Arsenal in any game as a Premier League manager, but one man who does like playing the Gunners is Peter Crouch, the giant striker has scored more goals against Arsenal than any other team in the Premier League and he’s netted eight in the last eight meetings.

The former England man is 11/1 with BoyleSports to open the scoring on Sunday afternoon, but in a game where I fancy goals, I much prefer the BoyleSports 16/5 on him scoring in the match at anytime.

If you don’t want to play on the both teams to score market or the home win as those prices make no appeal then I wouldn’t rule out a 3-1 correct-score play for small stakes at a bargain price of 11/1 with BoyleSports.

Seeley’s Selections:
Arsenal to win @ 40/85
Peter Crouch Anytime Goalscorer @ 16/5
Correct Score: Arsenal 3-1 Stoke @ 11/1

Man United v Southampton, Sunday 4pm, live on Sky Sports 1
Manchester United host Southampton on Sunday in arguably the game of the weekend, it’s been an expensive festive period for everyone so I’ve got a couple of tasty ones to get some money back in the old sky rocket!

United are the favourites for this one at 4/5 with BoyleSports and rightly so.
Van Gaal’s men have not lost at Old Trafford in the league in nine and have won eight of those.

The 19/5 with BoyleSports about Southampton is a tempting looking price for a team who have been excellent this season but don’t be drawn in, I can only see a United win. Goals are on the menu big in this one and there are loads of lovely stats to help back that up.

United have scored in nine of their last 10 matches in the Premier League and simply don’t keep enough clean sheets and I can’t see them keeping one on Sunday. The Saints have also scored in 10 of their last 13 Premier League matches with five of the last six at Old Trafford between these two seeing both teams scoring. If you need anymore convincing that the best bet of the game is both teams to score then you’re mad!

Back both teams to find the net on Sunday afternoon at BoyleSports’ 20/23 and I’m sure you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank.

United will be boosted by the return of Angel Di Maria and the Argentine has been mighty impressive since his summer move from Real Madrid. The 13/2 with BoyleSports on him scoring the first goal and the 19/10 with BoyleSports all on the forward to score in this one is where my money will be invested.

As I’ve said I think there will be goals and I think United will win it. You can get 13/1 on a 3-1 home win with BoyleSports and that’s big enough for me to have a piece of. United’s front line will be too strong for Southampton and the Saints will march back to the south coast with no points in their pockets.

REMEMBER “DOUBLE BUBBLE” if you goalscorer selection scores the opening goal in ANY Premier League game this weekend inside the opening 20 minutes, BoyleSports will double the odds on that winning selection.

B Lucky!

Seeley’s Selections:
Man United to win @ 4/5
Both teams to score – Yes @ 20/23
Angel di Maria First Goalscorer @ 13/2 (13/1 Double Bubble)
