Grade 1 racing returns at Down Royal today and it’ll be interesting to see how many more renewals of this race there will at the venue.

Willie Mullins has no representation in the Grade 1 but has plenty of Flat interest this weekend with half the field in the November Handicap at Naas. He may also land a nice pot at Newmarket today.

Drop In Trip Shouldn’t Halt Classy True Self
Willie Mullins has gone through the calendar looking for end of year opportunities for True Self and was successful at Bath last time over 1m6f. Colin Keane made the trip over last time and is back onboard today and despite a fairly dramatic drop in trip to 1m2f today, she certainly doesn’t look to lack speed.

Snow Predicted At Down Royal
The Grade 2 second season novice chase at Down Royal is a real interesting race with Monalee sure to be popular for Henry de Bromhead and Noel Fehily. Monalee and The Storyteller both landed Grade 1’s last year but a chance is taken that Snow Falcon comes out on top here today.

We saw Samcro get turned over on his seasonal reappearance by a fit horse in Bedrock and Snow Falcon might just be able to use his summer outings to his benefit here today.

Snow Falcon was the selection from this corner for what used to be the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury and the hope is still that he pitches up there next month as he could have the class to run a big race there.

Back Frost In Charlie Hall
The Charlie Hall Chase is another indicator that the jump season is most definitely upon us but the ground description of good, good to firm in places isn’t familiar to this time of year.

Black Corton is given the nod to come out on top here. The seven-year-old really seemed to put Bryony Frost on the map last year as the pair won five on the bounce early last season and two more over the winter months including a Grade One at Kempton.
