BoyleSports IGD

Outright Betting

The Patrick Guilfoyle trained Good News who goes from Trap 2 is the warm 13/8 favourite for Saturday’s BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby final.

Graham Holland has two strong contenders for the €150,000 prize money with Sonic the 15/8 second favourite and Black Farren priced at 6/1. They will run from Trap 6 and 3 respectively.

Michael J O’Donovan’s Buckos Dream, who goes from Trap 5, is ahead of Black Farren however at 5/1 after he was cut in from 20/1 after his runner up place to Black Farren in the semi-finals.

Jaytee Jet, who finished third to Good News and Sonic in the second semi-final, is priced at 10/1 whilst Peter Cronin’s Hey Bound who will race from Trap 1 is the 20/1 outsider.

Buckos Dream has seen a lot of support following his semi-final win last Saturday, which resulted in his odds being cut to 5/1 from 20/1,

…with punters suggesting that he might just give trainer Michael O’Donovan his third win in the race and first win since 2014.

Buckos has a similar style of running as O’Donovan’s 2014 winner Laughil Blake, his supporters will be looking for a smash break as he will be applying the catch me if you can tactics. We would like to wish connections of all six finalists the very best of luck on Saturday night. May the best dog win!
