Varadkar Backed To Serve As Taoiseach Long-Term

It was the end of an era today as Enda Kenny stepped down and resigned as the Taoiseach of the Republic of Ireland.

The man who is now the leader of Fine Gael, Leo Varadkar, is currently 9/4 to only be Taoiseach for the remainder of 2017.

The current favourite at 6/4 however, is that Leo will at least lead the country until 2021.

With many experts predicting a general election in 2018, the new leader of Fine Gael is a 5/2 chance to be finished serving as Taoiseach at some stage in 2018.

Leo Varadkar is not everybody’s cup of tea, but in all likelihood, it looks as if our new Taoiseach elect will at least be in charge until the general election in the summer of 2018 which is currently a 5/2 chance.

All of the money since we opened the market today suggests the Leo is going to be in the hot seat for a while to come.

He is 6/4 from an opening show of 9/4 to be leading the country until at least 2021 or after.
