Champion Hurdle Money Continues To Pour In For Samcro

The gamble on Samcro winning next year’s Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham has continued after we were forced to further trim his odds on Tuesday.

They had already cut Gordon Elliott’s 6-year-old into 11/4 from 4/1 on Monday after the Meath handler said he has a ‘great chance’ of landing the race, with the option of going over the larger obstacles this season passed up by connections.

The burst in money has seen Samcro go 5/2 favourite, leapfrogging Nicky Henderson’s Buveur d’Air in the betting, with the JP McManus-owned 7-year-old now a 3/1 second favourite to make it three Champion Hurdles on the trot next March.

There were also moves in the Arkle antepost market when both Mengli Khan and Getabird were cut into 14/1 shots from 20/1 at the start of the week.
