Co Meath Punter Delighted After €8,859 Scoop

Wolverhampton was the lucky track for a Co Meath punter on Tuesday as they turned €13 into €8,859.50 with two separate bets, both on the West Midlands race track.

The first bet was for a €2 stake on a four-selection accumulator on the last four races at Wolverhampton, placed in their local BoyleSports shop in the county. The second bet was a Yankee costing €11 which is a four-selection wager consisting of eleven bets of six doubles, four trebles and four-fold accumulator.

The 18.30 at Wolverhampton was won by Arabic Culture, after the initial winner Singing Sheriff was relegated into second after a stewards enquiry.

But the customer was still paid on their bet having picked the horse who was first past the post. The bet was struck at 11/2 and the winner returned at 9/2. It was certainly a dramatic start.

Next up was Blood Eagle in the 19.00 for trainer Andrew Balding as he obliged at 5/2 for the Meath punter and with just two more races to go, the dream was still alive.

Withoutdestination grabbed victory by a neck in the 19.30 with the customer nabbing the early price of 16/1. It was all down to the last race as International Law won the 20.00 at 5/1. The €2 accumulator bet collected €4,641 and the €11 Yankee bet swiped up €4,218.50, bringing the total winning amount to €8,859.50.
