Elliott’s Memorable Week To Continue At Navan

Navan will have to pass a morning inspection before racing gets the go ahead on Sunday but, after a hectic week in Cheltenham, it would be a huge shame to lose what looks a really good card at the Meath venue including the return of Great Field in the Grade 2 Webster Cup.

Elliott To Continue A Memorable Week
Great Field would get the nod over the race fit Doctor Phoenix in the feature race but Elliott will be disappointed if he doesn’t grab a few winners across Navan and Limerick and Tombstone and Sunsetstorise look to be two of his best chances at his local track.

Tobmstone takes on Saturanus in the Grade 3 Novice Chase. Saturanus was priced up the odds on favourite on Saturday evening for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend and on official ratings this race would look ideal for him but he may just be a horse that is somewhat flattered by his rating and…

Tombstone might well be able to concede the 7lbs and still come out on top.

Tombstone isn’t exactly a prolific winner but his run the last day at Leopardstown was another good effort and he’s just given the nod to come out on top in what looks a two horse race.

The veteran Sunsetstorise will be having his first run for Elliott a year on from winning at Fairyhouse for Francis Flood. This doesn’t look the strongest of contests and the course and distance winner may be up to winning around Navan again and making a good start for his new connections coming from a yard where you wouldn’t expect the lay off to be a massive concern.

At Limerick, Elliott has solid chances too and Dinaria Des Obeaux would look the best of them in the Grade 2 Novice Chase.

All In For Harrington
It wasn’t quite a week to remember for Jessica Harrington like last year as the ground certainly went against her team at Cheltenham last week but she can return to the winners enclosure at home with Alletrix in the Grade 3 Mares Novice Hurdle at Limerick.

This is a cracking little 12 runner race and cases could be made for many of them but Alletrix is getting weight all around here and she really does have some good form in the book.

Finishing second, albeit well beaten, behind Laurina could be a feat many geldings will be happy with in time, and her effort at Leopardstown was fairly convincing.

Meri Devie didn’t frank the form at Cheltenham last week but…

Alletrix has improved dramatically and can continue her progression here.

Recommended Bets:
Tombstone (5/4) – 4.00 Navan
Sunsetstorise (11/8) – 5.05 Navan
Alletrix (5/2) – 2.30 Limerick
Dinaria Des Obeaux (4/5) – 4.10 Limerick
