Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe Betting Favourites

Ace Impact

The favourite for the 2023 Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is Ace Impact at 5/2 odds.

The Bay Colt is the son of Cracksman, trained by J-C Rouget for Gousserie Racing & Ecuries Serge Stempniak.

The three-year-old only commenced racing this year and has already won five from five races. The average distance of those wins was two lengths and he even broke the race record at Chantilly.

Ace Impact’s most recent outing was in August at Deauville where he finished ¾ of a length ahead of Al Riffa following a 72-day break from the track. While his stamina may be questioned due to never racing freely over ten furlongs, he remains the horse to beat in Paris this Sunday with his 100% record on the line.

Hukum

The co-second favourite to win the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is Hukum at odds of 13/2.

The six-year-old son of Sea The Stars is trained by Owen Burrows and owned by Shadwell Estate Company Ltd. Hakum commenced his racing career coming third at Newbury back in 2019

Since then he has gone on to win 11 times, finished runners-up once and third-place twice from seventeen races.

Last time out in Ascot, Hukum won a back-and-forth duel with Westover by a head to claim the eleventh success of his career. He’s been kept away from the track since, but due to his strong staying credentials and ground versatility, he has major claims for glory at Longchamp.

Westover

The other 13/2 second co-favourite for the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is Westover. The four-year-old is a son of Frankel, trained by Ralph Beckett for Juddmonte.

Westover finished sixth at this event last year. From his twelve track trips, he has four victories, five second-place finishes and one third-place.

This four-year-old’s last time on track was at Ascot back in July where he was narrowly beaten by fellow L’Arc contender Hukum.

Continuous

Next up in the betting we have Continuous who is priced up at odds of 15/2. The three-year-old son of Hearts Cry is trained by AP O’Brien for D Smith, Mrs J Magnier, M Tabor, Westerberg.

From his seven excursions on track, the Bay Colt has four victories, one runner-up finish and one third-place result.

Continuous raced only two weeks ago in Doncaster where he won a nine-horse field. In that outing he came 2¾ lengths clear of the second-place finisher Arrest over the 1 mile 6½ furlong trip.

Feed The Flame

The horse with the fifth shortest odds for the big race in Paris this Sunday is Feed The Flame who is an 8/1 shot. The three-year-old son of Kingman is trained by P Bary for Ecurie Jean-Louis Bouchard.

This Bay Colt only made his debut on track back in April and has since gone on to rack up three wins and one runner-up finish in five outings.

Feed The Flame’s last time on track was at Longchamp where he will run again this Sunday. On that occasion he finished 2nd in a field of seven horses coming 2½  lengths behind winner Fantastic Moon.
