Seeley’s Selections – Cambridge United v Man United – FA Cup

Cambridge United v Man United

Match Betting

I know that a Manchester United win is always a disaster for the BoyleSports odds compilers and cheered all the way to the bank by us punters.

We all know that they are going to beat Cambridge in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night, but will we back them at quotes of 1/5 on offer with BoyleSports? I thought not either.

Unless you are a seriously heavy punter there is no real value in risking our hard earned on Luis Van Gaal’s men at those odds but they certainly have to be in all the weekend FA Cup longlists. So where do we make some money in this one?

The first bet I really like in this clash is the 5/6 with BoyleSports on the Red Devils to win to nil. Van Gaal’s side look a much more solid unit at the back nowadays and they haven’t conceded a goal in their last three away matches. I really can’t see the League Two side troubling them at all in front of goal and with clean sheets at Loftus Road and White Hart Lane in their last two Premier League away matches, I can’t see Man Utd new-boy Victor Valdes having to much to do at the Abbey Stadium.

In the third round United eased to a 2-0 win over Yeovil and that’s the kind of performance I’m expecting in this one; a very one-sided but professional one from a side that is really taking this FA Cup seriously this season and with no European distractions and at 5/1 with BoyleSports to win it for a 12th time, they are amongst the sides that the BoyleSports football boys don’t want to see walking out at Wembley in May.

United’s last two away matches have been won by a 2-0 scoreline and that again is where I will putting my money on at 5/1 with BoyleSports.

Cambridge are available at 12/1 for a shock victory here but the gap between the Premier League and the rest is getting bigger and bigger and with hardly any upsets in this years competition so far, I really can’t see them troubling a side that has only lost once in their last 10 away matches and that was at the champions Manchester City.

Former Man Utd winger Luke Chadwick will be a popular first goalscorer in this one with BoyleSports at 28/1 to net the opener against his former side but the romance for me has gone in this competition so stop betting with your heart, I haven’t got one, and use your head.

It’s very difficult to guess what starting XI Van Gaal will select with some big Premier League games to come over the next couple of weeks in their pursuit for a top four finish but youngster James Wilson would have done his claims no harm with his late goal against QPR last week and the teenager is an industry best 9/2 with BoyleSports to open the scoring which is worth a small play.

B Lucky!
