Clean Bandit Single Plummets For Xmas Number One

The race for the UK Christmas Number One has gone into overdrive with a new favourite to claim the top spot.

Clean Bandit are now the 6/4 joint favourites, alongside Friends of Jo Cox, to land the UK Christmas Number One spot after we were inundated with bets on Thursday and traders were forced to drastically slash their odds.

On Wednesday there was a burst of support for Clean Bandit resulting in their odds shortening to 12/1 from 22/1.

However punters came out in force again on Thursday, seeing bets as big as €500 being placed on the band.

The avalanche of bets has seen them cut from 12/1 to 6/4 in a matter of hours.

The Friends of Jo Cox charity single had a short lived stay as the sole favourite after knocking Matt Terry off the top spot on Wednesday when punters backed it into 7/4 from 7/2.

Matt Terry had been the 6/4 favourite off the back of his X Factor victory but has since been eased out to 15/2 as support falls away.
