Ahern Tipped For Return To Politics

With speculation mounting that former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is set to return to politics, BoyleSports traders have priced up some specials on the Drumcondra native.

Political commentators have said it would be no shock if Bertie Ahern was to come out of retirement and it’s certainly not out of the question as suggested by the odds of 2/1 that he will run as a Fianna Fáil candidate in the next general election.

Ahern is 10/1 to be Taoiseach again before January 2026.

It’s 6/4 that he will turn away from his former party Fianna Fáil and run in the next general election with any other party or as an independent whilst he is 20/1 to succeed Michael D. Higgins as the next President of Ireland.
