Allaho Closes In On Ryanair Chase Favouritsim At Cheltenham

Allaho is within a whisker of favouritism for the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham after leading home a Willie Mullins 1-2-3 at Thurles on Wednesday.

Stepping back in trip following a fourth in the Savills Chase at Christmas, Paul Townend steered the 10/11 favourite to a three-length victory in the Horse & Jockey Hotel Chase as we rushed to clip his Ryanair chances into 6/1 from 8/1.

That puts him hot on the heels of stablemate Min, who remains 5/1 favourite.

Mullins confirmed afterwards that the Mares’ Chase is the likely destination for runner-up Elimay, who saw her chances of winning the inaugural running of the race cut in half from 10/1 to 5/1.

Allaho’s victory completed a quickfire Grade Two double for the Willie Mullins-Paul Townend duo as they combined to land the opener with Colreevy, who has shot to the head of the market at 4/1 from 6/1 for the Mares’ Chase and now shares favouritism with another stablemate in Benie Des Diuex.
