Bees Backed To Banish Poor Play-off Record

Brentford are all the rage to be playing Premier League football next season ahead of their money-spinning showdown with Swansea at Wembley on Saturday.

The London side are attempting to shrug off an unwanted record of nine consecutive unsuccessful play-off campaigns over the last thirty years,

…having most recently come up short in last year’s final against Fulham.

The odds however suggest they will avoid another disappointment as Thomas Frank’s side, who saw off Swansea at the semi-final stage in last year’s play-offs, have shortened into 2/5 from 8/15 to clinch a place in next season’s Premier League.

Both Championship meetings between the pair this season finished 1-1 and it’s an 11/2 shot that they make it a hat-trick, while Ivan Toney has unsurprisingly been singled out as Brentford’s dangerman.

Eleven of his 31 goals in the regular season were openers and the coveted striker is a clear favourite at 5/2 from 3/1 to be the first to find the net again

All odds correct at time of publication.
