Big Sam The Man For England Job

Sam Allardyce is the 1/4 frontrunner to replace Roy Hodgson as England manager, after his club Sunderland confirmed they’d given him permission to speak to the FA about their managerial vacancy.

Allardyce, who was Evens on Tuesday morning, met with FA chiefs about the role yesterday, as Sunderland called for a ‘swift resolution’ to the process.

United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann is next in the betting, at 10/1, while Hull City boss Steve Bruce is 16/1. Guus Hiddink, who took over from Jose Mourinho as Interim Manager at Chelsea last season, is available at 20/1.

Big Sam’s relegation survival with Sunderland last season has obviously impressed FA bosses, who’ve sought permission to speak with him about the vacancy.

Allardyce has never hidden his desire to manage his country and it looks like he’s a step closer to realising his ambitions, having shortened to 1/4 for the role.
