Birmingham City Cut To Win Opening EFL Championship Match Against Brentford

Birmingham City are set to host Brentford at the St. Andrew’s Stadium on Saturday in their opening EFL Championship fixture and the Blues will be aiming for a win on home soil.

Birmingham are without defeat in their last six opening Championship home games (W3, D3). Despite Birmingham City being the 15/4 outsiders, in 13 previous encounters between the two sides, Birmingham City hold the clear advantage.

They have won six games, lost three and drawn four. Their most recent match ended in a 1-1 draw. Brentford have been backed into the 4/5 favourites from Even money while the draw is 12/5.

Using BoyleSports’ Opta stats, Birmingham are 13/10 to have the first shot on goal and 7/5 for it to be on target.

Winger Jeremie Bela is one of Birmingham’s star players and he is 21/20 to have Over 0.5 shots on target, while Over 1.5 shots is 11/2. The French man is 4/9 to have Over 0.5 shots outside the box.

Birmingham have only lost one of their last 18 league season openers played on home soil (W13 D4 L1) and are the 15/4 outsiders from 4/1 in Saturday’s game. We are proud sponsors of Birmingham City and they hold the clear advantage over Brentford based on their 13 previous encounters.

Brentford are the favourites at 4/5 but the stats would suggest it’s not going to be easy times against Blues who have a tremendous opening day record.
