Bohemians Shorten For League Of Ireland Following Early Gamble

Bohemians were the subject of a gamble on Thursday morning to win the League Of Ireland just a few hours after the market was opened following the release of fixtures this week.

Last year’s runners-up added to their ranks this week with former Rangers and Celtic midfielder Liam Burt and are now 8/1 shots from 11/1 to win the Premier Division following some strong support in Dublin.

Keith Long’s men are now our biggest losers in the book.

It’s a familiar two-horse race at the head of the betting ahead of the new season starting next month with Shamrock Rovers the 4/5 favourites to defend their title while Dundalk are 15/8 second favourites as they chase their sixth title in eight seasons.

Shamrock Rovers begin their defence at home to St Patrick’s Athletic when the season kicks off on Friday March 19th, while the Lilywhites begin their campaign with a trip to Sligo Rovers the next day.

Outside of the leading pair, St. Pat’s have been given a 12/1 chance of landing their first title since 2013, with Sligo Rovers and Derry City at 16/1 and 25/1 respectively.
