BoyleSports Donates To Three Homeless Charities For Christmas

We are delighted to have openly supported three homeless charities this Christmas. The firm donated a total of €2,000 to across the Peter McVerry Trust in Dublin and two local homeless charities and support groups in Louth.

Peter McVerry Trust put out a corporate Christmas appeal called ‘One Hundred Homes’ where they aim to refurbish, renovate or repair over 100 homes to provide housing for over one hundred families who are currently homeless.

The donation of €1,000 from us will aid Peter McVerry Trust in supporting 1,400 people every night this Christmas across our homeless & housing services and reaching their goal of taking people out of homelessness for good.

As BoyleSports is based in County Louth, which has growing numbers of homelessness each year, donations went to Drogheda Homeless Aid and Dundalk Homeless Support Group.

A contribution of €500 was made to Drogheda Homeless Aid in support of their annual sleep out which happens on the 8-9th December. The charity currently provides accommodation to 120 homeless men, has helped 33 men stay out of homelessness during 2017 and regularly provides hot meals for those living in poverty.

Dundalk Homeless Support Group are a small group of volunteers who instead of receiving monetary donations appeal for much needed housing items, clothing, food hampers and toiletries to aid families and people who are homeless or in need.

We contributed twenty €25 shopping vouchers so they could distribute them across the families that they sponsor and be used to their own discretion. As individuals who give up their free time, seven days a week to help, Dundalk Homeless Support Group are also on the hunt for new volunteers and have most recently issued a fresh appeal for anyone who may be able to lend a hand.
