Brendan Rodgers Shoots Up To Favourite For Gunners Hotseat

Brendan Rodgers has emerged as the stand alone favourite to land the manager’s job at Arsenal after an influx of bets on the Celtic boss.

The former Liverpool manager had opened up as a 10/1 shot following the announcement on Friday that Arsene Wenger was to leave his role as Arsenal manager after 22 years at the helm.

The support for Rodgers has now seen him cut into 7/2, leapfrogging previous favourite Patrick Vieira who has drifted from 3/1 to 6/1.

Carlo Ancelotti and Luis Enrique have been the best backed candidates of the foreign contingent and are both currently without clubs having last managed Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively. Former Chelsea boss Ancelotti has seen his odds cut in half from 10/1 to 5/1, while Luis Enrique has closed into 9/2 second favourite having been on offer at 14/1 when the market opened.

We made Patrick Vieira favourite for the Arsenal job when we opened our market but we’re now facing a significant liability if Brendan Rodgers gets the nod because there’s been heavy traffic in his direction…

so much so we’ve cut him into 7/2 favourite.
