Can Clan Des Obeaux Follow King George Triumph With Gold Cup Win?

Clan Des Obeaux was a worthy winner of the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Thursday afternoon defending his title for trainer Paul Nicholls who notched up his 11th trophy in the prestigious Grade One.

The talented 7-year old finished 5th in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham earlier this year and BoyleSports have now trimmed the brilliant chaser into 10/1 from 20/1 to win it next March with Kemboy the 9/2 favourite, trimmed from 11/2.

Kemboy beat Clan Des Obeaux by nine lengths in April in the Grade One Chase and punters were quick to jump on the Willie Mullins trained star to win at Prestbury Park next year forcing us to cut his price.

Other movers in the Gold Cup include Lostintranslation who has been eased out to 8/1 from 4/1 following a disappointing performance in the King George VI. The 2019 Gold Cup champion Al Boum Photo is 6/1 from 8/1 to win back-to-back titles and is also trained by Willie Mullins.
