Chelsea Legend Frank Lampard Linked But Eddie Howe Has Odds For Celtic Vacancy

Celtic announced on Wednesday morning that Neil Lennon has resigned as manager and it’s John Kennedy who is the early front runner in the betting to replace him.

Lennon was in his second spell as manager of the Glasgow club and had guided them to five trophies but after a difficult season he made the decision to step down with assistant manager John Kennedy taking interim charge of the team.

Frank Lampard is looking for a job and is 6/1 from 10/1 for the move while former Bournemouth manger Eddie Howe is 2/1 from 3/1.

As soon as the news broke, punters requested odds on Lennon’s replacement and John Kennedy has been chalked up as the 11/10 favourite, with those chances quickly clipped into 4/5 in a matter of minutes.

Early support has also arrived for Chelsea legend Frank Lampard who is now rated as the 6/1 third favourite for the role, trimmed from 10/1. Plenty of Celtic supporters have urged the club to bring in Eddie Howe after Lennon resigned as Hoops boss.

Howe is a name who has been linked with the Parkhead hot seat in recent months with Premier League duo Newcastle United and Crystal Palace also thought to be keen on the 43-year-old, who has been out of management since leaving Bournemouth back in August. Howe is 2/1 from 3/1 to make the move to Glasgow.
