Galway v Sligo Analysis From Diarmuid Connolly

Diarmuid Connolly isn’t expecting a surprise result in the game this Sunday:

“There is a Connacht final up for grabs here with Galway a very short 1/50 to win this game and I think they will win but Sligo are slightly unknown.”

Galway were defeated in the Division One League Final earlier this spring after following up last year’s successful Championship campaign with a strong league.
Given their form over the last year and Connacht semi-final win against fellow Division One side Roscommon they go into this Connacht Final as heavy favourites.

“Galway lost the league final to Mayo but then they bounced back. Roscommon then beat Mayo in the first round of the Connacht Championship and then Galway beat Roscommon by four points. It was a convincing win and they have been the stand-out team for me in the Division 1 League this year.”

Galway v Sligo Prediction

“Sligo are a bit unknown. They beat London and New York comfortably. I like Sligo with the handicap +13 and Matty Tierney has been the stand-out guy in the league, so 15/2 for the first-goalscorer is the bet for me.”

Best Bet: Sligo +13 @ 8/11

Kerry v Clare Munster Final Preview

Kerry and Clare will contest this year’s Munster Football Final and it is the Kingdom who are expected to make light work of their opposition this Sunday.

Kerry v Clare Analysis From Diarmuid Connolly

There’s not much value to be had in betting Kerry to win this game with the Kingdom set as 1/50 on in the betting market. With that being said, Connolly is backing Kerry to win this one with ease and beat their handicap.

“Kerry are 1/50 to win but the -12 in the handicap at 10/11 is the value bet I think. Kerry beat Tipperary by 20 points. Clare beat Cork in the first round by a point and beat Limerick by a goal.”

Clare are the team with the tough task of putting it up to Kerry in this Munster Final and Connolly was complimentary of the Banner men who beat Cork earlier in the Championship.

“I like this Clare side and I was impressed with them last season; they are building something. The bet for me in this contest would be for David Clifford to score a goal anytime at 4/6.”

Kerry v Clare Prediction

“I have a feeling this Kerry side are going to put up a big score this weekend. It’s all about the Sam Maguire to this side so a big performance will stand to them.”
