Conor McGregor Backed To Return In New Year With Victory

Conor McGregor’s odds of returning to UFC action with a victory next month are shortening after manager Audie Attar claimed this week that the Crumlin man is in the best shape he has been since teaming up with him almost a decade ago.

The Paradigm boss hyped up the Dubliner’s fitness ahead of his anticipated return to the Octagon in January with Abu Dhabi set to host the UFC 257 bout against old rival Dustin Poirier.

McGregor, who beat Poirier in the opening round of their first bout in Las Vegas in 2014, has recently been backed into 4/9 from 4/6 to assert his authority over the American, with hot odds of 1/6 suggesting the fight won’t go the full distance again.

The early betting is all going in his direction with patient punters happy to snap up odds-on figures even at this stage.

Talks are also supposedly ongoing for a money-spinning boxing bout with Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao after the eight-division world champion paved the way for a deal when he signed up to the same management team as McGregor earlier this year.

But unlike Poirier, the ‘PacMan’ is strongly expected to see off the Dubliner in his own code at 1/3 should the event come to pass in 2021.
